About the Museum Photo Gallery
At Don Pedro Cigars we are proud of Puerto Rico’s tobacco history and want to share its richness with others. Therefore, we invite you to visit the “Museo del Tabaco” – a landmark of great tradition. Like Don Pedro Cigars, the museum is located in Caguas, Puerto Rico.
The "Museo del Tabaco" is a museum sponsored by the Department of Cultural Development of the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas and is dedicated to preserving the history and cultural heritage of Puerto Rico’s tobacco industry. The museum opened in the year 2000 and includes historical collections, cultural specimens, and records about the cultivation and production of tobacco in Puerto Rico.
Constructed in an old nineteenth century blacksmith’s shop it is named after don Herminio Torres Grillo (1905 - 1999), a teacher, historian, journalist and poet of Caguas. Visitors are able to relive an entire era and gain insight and appreciation of Puerto Rico’s global contribution to the tobacco industry.
