Thank you for fulfilling my first order with Don Pedro two weeks ago!
I recently placed an order on the Don Pedro website for a selection of cigars, and I have been able to enjoy several of them already. My staple orders in the past have generally been for the Dominican-made "Cuban” cigars: Cohiba, and the Altadis empire of Montecristo, H. Upmann and Romeo & Julieta. I am most impressed to find a Puerto Rican company who is able to offer a locally-made cigar of parallel quality to these more established brands at a much better value. |
 | My favorite Don Pedro cigar is the Corona, from the "Don Pedro Original” selection. On most occasions, I prefer a mild to medium-bodied cigar, and the combination of the Puerto Rican filler and the Dominican binder in this cigar provide for a mild and even smoke, while the Cameroon wrapper serves to round out the flavor, adding just a hint of robustness and quality of flavor to this cigar. The gauge and length of this cigar make it perfect for me as an after-dinner cocktail smoke; my ideal pairing with this cigar is another of my favorite Caribbean exports, Pyrat XO Reserve rum from Anguilla.
While I was at first a little hesitant about ordering from a Puerto Rican cigar company over the internet (most of my former orders have been through local cigar shops or with JR Cigars), your company proved to be both professional and efficient with the handling of my order. Thanks also to Pete, who was able to give knowledgeable answers to my questions when I called for further specifics about wrappers prior to placing my order.
As a full time resident of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, I love the fact that these cigars are actually hand made here in Puerto Rico, using the best of local products and talents. It also seems to me that while Don Pedro uses the best of local products available, they still seek out wrappers, binders, etc. from some of the best markets around the globe to supplement and enhance the quality of their finished product beyond what is readily available in the Puerto Rican market.
Just this past Christmas I received a much larger humidor as a gift; I look forward to continuing to replenish my supply from the selection Don Pedro has to offer, as well as recommending your company to my cigar-smoking customers. Thanks Don Pedro, keep up your high standard of quality and the good work!
