What do you do if the weather is too hot or cold for shipping wine?
During summer months and extreme winter months, wine shipments may be held in our temperature controlled warehouse or charged higher rates to cover rapid delivery to minimize the chance of heat or cold damage. Generally, we will not ship wine via any method other than express or overnight when temperatures in the 5-day forecast are less than 32 degrees or greater than 80 degrees. Other shipment options will be discussed with you prior to wine shipment or holding.
If you choose to overide our hold due to weather, we require you to upgrade your shipping to Express so your wine spends as little time as possible in these extreme weather conditions. Contact our guest services department for these requests. When orders are released from hold due to your request, DeLaVin will not accept responsibility for damage that items suffer as a result of extreme temperatures during shipping, and will not replace these items at our expense. If you prefer to cancel your order more than 7 days following notification of a weather hold, and want to shop again at a later date, we require a 15% restocking fee.

Do you guarantee overnight deliveries?
The estimated delivery times and costs of shipping options can vary based on the weight and availability of products. (Quick-selling or limited availability items may be back-ordered up to a few days.) While under many circumstances we are able to ship orders within a day or two, under no circumstances can we guarantee overnight delivery unless you contact Customer Service to confirm stock levels.

Do delivery costs change from the amount shown on the ‘Confirm order’ screen?
When placing an order, all delivery options available for your shipment will appear during the "Confirm Order" step of the checkout process, showing the estimated costs and estimated delivery times for each based on your particular order. Due to ever fluctuating shiping rates, DeLaVin reserves the right to make minor adjustments (of less than 10%) to shipping charges on orders at it’s sole discretion. Any adjustment in excess of 10% will be discussed with you prior to order shipment.

What states can you ship products from your site to?
DeLaVin is able to ship non-wine items (giftbaskets, gourmet food & chocolate, gift certificates and accessories) to all US states and some international destinations. Unfortunately there are many states which prohibit out-of-state retailers from shipping wine to residents of their state. Such state laws on alcohol shipping are complex and under constant review, and how we wish we could simply ship to all states equally. Until such time, you must make absolutely certain that you are familiar with your individual or the recipient’s states restrictions on shipping and that you abide by the maximum limit of wine which can be shipped under your states regulations. As well, the recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes within their state for and all shipments.
For orders containing wine, below is a list of states we ship to, as well as details on which states do not allow shipments of wine.
